- Is it necessary to realize installation on all local computers which want to use EviLit program?
- Which installation shall be realized on local computer where data will not be placed?
- How to install data?
- - Start MSSQLServer service by pressing key Start/Continue (green arrow).
- - Tick item Auto-Start service when OS start.
- - Close the window.
- - If you have installed MSDE program you need not change any data.
- - If you have installed MS SQL program it is necessary to modify items User and Password (pursuant to help in Portex program).

- Is it necessary to configure local computer which connects to server?

- During entering new record in catalogue of books, the function „Load information from Internet (Ctrl + I)“ is not working
a) Install complete installation of EviLit program including Portex program on the computer where you want to have your data located
b) If you have not launched MSDE (MS SQL) program earlier, launch Service Manager program which is located in folder Start-Programs-MSDE.
c) Launch Portex program.
b) Set TCP/IP (or other protocol pursuant to your network settings) in element Default network library.
c) Press key OK
d) During launching EviLit program enter the server name (name of computer where data are located).
a) Set folder, where EviLit program is saved (e.g. C:Program FilesEviLit) to sharing after program installation on server (data are located here). It is suitable to set rights to read for all users, only it is necessary to set full access rights (i.e. write, read and delete) for user who will carry out update (operator with absolute rights).
b) Select key Network during first start of program on all network sites and on the server find location of folder, which we set for sharing in point 1. This folder need not connect as a separate unit on local computers.
c) Now, in each program start the program will find out whether there are a new EviLit program and Helps versions on the server. If they are there, everything is copied to the network site.
b) Data are not loaded on MSDE/SQL Server. Realize procedure mentioned in point 3c.
c) If you connect to another computer (server), where data are located, it is necessary to carry out configuration of network protocols. Procedure is mentioned in point 4.
Furthermore, it is possible to download this compressed program from our server at address: MSDErename.exe.
a) Set up new user e.g. EviLit in utility User administrator (administration tools) and assign rights of Guest type or higher to him/her. And enter password of 6 characters at minimum.
b) Select item After start for MSSQLServer service in Services module (control panels) and select this account, where in selection select the user, which you have created in the previous step and enter his/her password in items Password and Confirm password.
c) Quit the service and start it again.
d) If NTFS file system is on server disk, where backups shall be stored, it is necessary to set this directory to sharing for the created user (see point a.). Rights must be set to Full management.
e) If you carry out backups to the local computer, it is necessary to set the directory, where backups will be stored, to sharing. It is necessary to set rights to Full management for this directory (on local computer) for user created on the server (see point a.).
f) If you carry out update or offer loading on the local computer, it is necessary to set directory of EviLit application to sharing. It is necessary to set at least right to Read for this directory (on local computer) for user created on the server (see point a.).
For user with limited rights in EviLit system it is sufficient to set rights for EviLit database to db_datareader a db_datawriter.
