The system serves to provide information on materials of various countries. Using the system it is possible to define materials similar to each other among the countries. It includes module KOVY-Z with database of ferrous materials and KOVY-N with database of non-ferrous materials. Both of the modules may be installed independently of one another and thus they may work separately. The system contains about 53 000 grades of materials in total from 25 countries and pursuant to EN and ISO standards. It can be effective particularly in companies, which deal with engineering production, business and co-operation with foreign countries.

Software enables to:

• browse databases of the individual countries
• display chemical composition and standards
• search databases according to various keys
• search similar foreign materials
• print result reports

Technical, Installation and Licence Conditions:

The system is determined for environment of operation systems MS Windows. We used CLIENT / SERVER architecture as solution basis with data administration through MS SQL Server or MSDE. Thus Kovy-ZN system may work within local as well as network employment. So-called “Floating Licence” is used in network employment, which means that you may install the system on any number of network sites and at the given moment you may execute it in the number corresponding to the purchased number of licences. Data protection is secured by access rights and passwords assigned individually to each user. You have an option to select language environment in Czech, German or English.

Hardware Requirements:

• computer with processor Pentium 166 MHz or higher
• operation system Microsoft Windows 95 and higher
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 including Service Pack 2 or higher
• 32 MB memory (recommended 64 MB)
• with MSDE - 135 MB free disk space (30 MB Kovy application + 55 MB MSDE + 50 MB data)
• without MSDE - 30 MB free disk space
