  1. Is it necessary to realize installation on all local computers which want to use EviZak program?

    Yes, it is. It is necessary to install at least limited program installation on all computers.

  2. Which installation shall be realized on local computer where data will not be placed?

    It is necessary to select Limited installation in selection of installation type. in this case only executive  Evizak program, Helps and all auxiliary libraries, necessary for correct program function, will be installed.

  3. How to install data?

    This procedure of program and data installation will be realized if user uses program only on one computer or if s/he want to access this computer from other computers located in the network:

    a) Install complete installation of EviZak program including Portex program on the computer where you want to have your data located

    b) If you have not launched MSDE (MS SQL) program earlier, launch Service Manager program, which is located in folder Start-Programs-MSDE.

    • - Start MSSQLServer service by pressing key Start/Continue (green arrow).
    • - Tick item Auto-Start service when OS start.
    • - Close the window.

    c) Launch Portex program.

    • - If you have installed MSDE program you need not change any data.
    • - If you have installed MS SQL program it is necessary to modify items User and Password (pursuant to Help in Portex program).
    • - Press key Import
  4. Is it necessary to configure local computer which connects to server?

    • a) Launch program cliconfg.exe (START-launch-cliconfg.exe).
    • b) Set TCP/IP (or other protocol pursuant to your network settings) in element Default network library.
    • c) Press keyOK
    • d) During launching EviZak program enter the server name (name of computer where data are located).
  5. What is "User number" and "Password" in first start of EviZak program?

    User number is 1 and Password 123. However, user with absolute rights has the option to change password after program start in menu Service-Register of Staff

  6. How is it possible to get newer program version?

    Newer program version is loaded automatically during monthly data update.

  7. How is the new program version loaded if EviZak program is installed on several computers?

    It is necessary to keep the following procedure so that each user need not load new program version manually and EviZak program itself finds out that newer version already exists:

    • a) Set folder, where EviZak program is saved (e.g. C:\Program Files\EviZak) to sharing after program installation on server (data are located here). It is suitable to set rights to read for all users, only it is necessary to set full access rights (i.e. write, read and delete) for user who will carry out update (operator with absolute rights).
    • b) Select key Network during first start of program on all network sites and on the server find location of folder, which we set for sharing in point 1. This folder need not connect as separate unit on local computers.
    • c) Now, in each program start the program will find out whether there are a new EviZak program and Helps versions on the server. If they are there, everything is copied to the network site.
  8. During start of EviZak or Portex program a message keeps displaying: "Unspecified error in connection to server. Check login data to server". Where is the error?

    Error can appear in these cases:

    • a) MSDE/SQL Server is not launched. Realize procedure mentioned in point 3b.
    • b) Data are not loaded on MSDE/SQL Server. Realize procedure mentioned in point 3c.
    • c) If you connect to another computer (server), where data are located, it is necessary to carry out configuration of network protocols. Procedure is mentioned in point 4.
  9. After computer rename MSDE/SQL Server stopped working. Is it possible to repair it?

    After computer rename MSDE/SQL Server 7.0 really does not work. It is necessary to start program MSDE_fix.bat, which is saved on installation CD in directory Service\SQL_MSDE\MSDErename\x86\setup.

    Furthermore, it is possible to download this compressed program from our server at address: http://www.normservis.cz/update/MSDErename.exe.

  10. I connect from local computer to data of EviZak program, which we have saved on server with operation system Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, Windows 2003, or Windows XP and backup, offer loading and update are not working. What shall we do?

    In this case you must realize the following procedure on our server:

    • a) Set up new user e.g. EviZak in utility  Users administrator (administration tools) and assign rights of Guest type or higher to him/her. And enter password of 6 characters at minimum.
    • b) Select item After start for MSSQLServer service in Services module (control panels) and select this account, where in selection select the user, which you have created in the previous step and enter his/her password in items Password and Confirm password.
    • c) Quit the service and start it again.
    • d) If NTFS file system is on server disk, where backups shall be stored, it is necessary to set this directory to sharing for the created user (see point a.). Rights must be set to Full management.
    • e) If you carry out backups to the local computer, it is necessary to set this directory, where backups will be stored, to sharing. It is necessary to set rights to Full management for this directory (on local computer) for user created on the server (see point a.).
    • f) If you carry out update or offer loading on the local computer, it is necessary to set directory of EviZak application to sharing. It is necessary to set at least right to Read for this directory (on local computer) for user created on the server (see point a.).
  11. Which rights must be set in Microsoft SQL Server for user of EviZak system?

    For user with absolute rights in EviZak system it is necessary to set rights for EviZak database as DBOwner-SysAdmin (in SQL Server 2000 and higher BulkAdmin is sufficient). This is because of update realization and offer loading.

    For user with limited rights in EviZak system it is sufficient to set rights for EviZak database to db_datareader a db_datawriter.

  12. How can be backup file *.zbf (*.mdf) restored after re-installation of computer where data are?

    Copy downloaded program http://www.normservis.cz/Download/EviZak32/portex.exe in any directory on the computer where MSDE/SQL is installed. After its launch select flag Data from backup, check and correct login data on MSDE/SQL and select using key Find backup file with data (*.zbf or *.mdf). Use key Import for subsequent data restoration.

  13. How to transfer data from version MSDE 1.0/SQL 7.0 to higher version?

    Use procedure in point 12.
